Today marks the momentous date of the launch of Stellar! Comics coming soon!
Kelvin Crawford is out of shape, newly single, and living at home with his mom - so he is surprised when he is drafted to fight for "the cause" in outer space. He is assigned a "partner" who quickly grows to be one of his dearest friends - but the better he gets to know this guy, the clearer it becomes that "the cause" is not quite right. Being a hard working and ethical person, Kelvin does what he's been trained for - he fights in the war anyway, and... wait, who's side was he on again? Crawford, what are you doing? Kelvin!
In June 2015 I learned of a scifi comic contest. I decided to enter, and that is how Stellar was born - on a whim, with little plot and no known ending. It was originally called "Clone."
Nothing came of the contest for me - I didn't even advance to round two - but the idea for "Clone" stuck with me and I spent a few weeks pondering it and trying to work things out. It received a name change as the plot evolved, and Stellar it shall remain because even if the plot changes further, it's a nice general space related name that works for anything.
I've never considered myself a science fiction fan - I'm one of the few who have no interest in Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. But good old fashioned retro scifi - I think that will be fun, and that is what I intend to do.
This is my very first comic. In fact, my very first original story at all. Please bear with me while I'm making mistakes. I can't guarantee a consistent update schedule - I'd like to be weekly but I think every 10 to 14 days is more realistic. I have no clue what I am doing in regards to paneling and layouts. If you can put up with all that, I think my characters are likeable and the story decent.
